From quote to confirmed order

The gap between a quote and a confirmed order is where most administrative time in lumber trading disappears. The terms are agreed quickly. Writing them down, sending them, and getting them back is what takes days.
The five steps
- Quote from live inventory, so the price and the availability match.
- Turn the accepted quote into an order without retyping anything.
- Send the confirmation the moment the trade closes, not that evening.
- Attach amendments to the original order rather than starting a new thread.
- Book freight against the same record, so the dates cannot drift apart.
Why the order matters
Each step removes one place where the agreement could be written down differently. By the end there is a single record, and both sides are reading from it.
